Blumarine Fall 2010

So Blumarine did some awsome stuff this Fall 2010. I just love the whole leather look it's kinda girly yet still saying "I can kick your butt with my awesome kung-foo" type stuff. There's also a lot of metallics, pastels, fringe, and get this ZEBRA! Whoop whoop! That's what I'm talking about!!! Happiness is flowing...dwell on the subject.

Here's some awesome photos with a little input of what I think:

I love this one! When I first saw it it "took my breathe aaaawaayyy"!! HAHA!! ok but seriously it's kinda out of this world alienish that was dressed by two people from Earth.

I love this also because it's all leather with the boots, bag, jacket, and fringe. Kind of like a biker's daughter

This outfit is totally HOT!!!!! It's kinda Sherlock Holmes meets Jack the Ripper! HA!

Whenever I see this dress I picture a photo shoot where the girl is standing in the middle of the Serengeti with Lionesses looking at her. Just a thought.

Check out the boots on this chick. Well it's either boots or leggings with boots but they look totally awesome!

Rock concert!!

I call this the Zebra Charlie. Because obviously the zebra and Charlie because it's short for Charleston which reminds me of the Flappers. Yeah I kinda branched out

Uhhhh....personally I think that there is just a little too much zebra going on. All the pieces are beautiful individually but together wellllll, too busy. She looks like one of those girls who is trying to wear an all zebra outfit so she got a jacket and etc but none of them match.

I totally see Rihanna wearing this...maybe she has. I don't know.

Too me this would be an awesome dress for any major type of party. Love it. Dwell.

Whitney

Schia, Schia, Schiaparelli

Ok so I was looking up designers the other day for class and I came across Elsa Sciaparelli (pronounced Skap-a-rellie).

Here she is:

Gorgeous!!

Anywho here are some facts that make her one of the top all time designers to know about:

- She was very influential in the 40's.
- Her fashion house closed in 1954.
-Influenced by Surrealists like Salvador Dali.
-She was the first one to start using colored zippers to match the clothing.
-Invented the 'Wedge'
-Very influential on her runway shows with the type of
music and art.
-Started using elongated, shapeless women for models like we do now.
-Collaborated with Salvador Dali to make the lamb-cutlet hat, brain hat, the shoe hat, the chest of drawers suit, Lobster dress, tears dress, and skeleton dress.
-Her 1940 collection featured "trench" brown and Camo print taffetas.

Elsa is definitely someone you need to remember. I mean come on, Camo prints during the war AND let alone in 1940!!! I mean who else would've done that!!!!

Here's a photo of the shoe hat:

Ok just so you get this: IT WAS THE 40'S WHEN SHE DID THIS!!!!!!

Thank you Elsa for the furthering fashion!
